Guideline for Incoming Students

APPLICATION
Who Can Apply as an Erasmus Student?

Students who meet the following qualifications can apply to become Erasmus students at Bingöl University:

a) There has to be a bilateral agreement between Bingöl University and the student's home university.

b) The student has to complete at least one year of education at their home university.

c) The student has the language proficiency required by the department where they will study.

d) The student has to be officially nominated by their home university.

e) The application process has to be completed by the specified application deadline.

 

Notification of Selected Students

All students must be reported as selected students by their university coordinators via email to erasmus@bingol.edu.tr.

Required Application Documents for Incoming Students:

These documents are as follows:

  • English Transcript of Records
  • Learning Agreement (academic coordinators assist Erasmus Exchange Students in filling out their Learning Agreements)
  • 1 passport-sized photograph (scanned)
  • Passport copy (Ensure that your passport is valid for the duration of your stay in Turkey)
  • Language proficiency certificate (should be at least B1 level unless otherwise specified in the Bilateral Agreement)

Acceptance/Invitation Letter

The acceptance/invitation letter is prepared by the University's Office of International Relations and sent to the student. The incoming student can also use this letter to obtain a student visa.

Turkish Course

The Turkish Language Course is offered to Erasmus Exchange Students for one semester. The aim of this course is to teach basic practical Turkish that can be useful in daily life. Additionally, students receive a certificate upon completion of the course.

Visa
Erasmus Students should research whether they need a visa before coming to Turkey. For up-to-date information, they can refer to Evisa and Visa Information For Foreigners.

According to the new regulations, all Erasmus students must obtain valid Health Insurance in Turkey to be eligible for a residence permit.

Turkey has health agreements with some of the countries listed below. Students coming from any of these countries are exempt from the General Health Insurance fee.

Australia: A/TR 3, A/TR 4

Belgium: BT.8, BT 16

Bosnia-Herzegovina: BH/TR 4, BH/TR 6, BH/TR 7

Germany: T/A 11, T/A 9, T/A 20 ,

If no agreement exists, you must obtain health insurance.

Residence Permit
Students who will stay in Turkey for more than 3 months are required to apply for a residence permit within 1 month of their arrival in Turkey.

Required documents for residence permit application:

  • 4 biometric photos
  • Photocopy of the passport showing the entry stamp to Turkey, the page with personal information, and the visa page if applicable
  • A document confirming the student's status as an Erasmus student for that period (provided by the Office of International Relations)
  • Printout of the application form (online registration)
  • Residence Permit fee
  • Health insurance

 

(Please note: If you do not obtain a residence permit during your exchange period, you may be fined upon leaving Turkey and could be deported by the authorities.)
